Neptune | Kansas City Healthcare Presentation: Knowledge Before Crisis

Neptune Society strives to inform its community about the benefits of preplanning end-of-life services. The staff of Neptune Society Kansas City gave a presentation about funeral planning at the third session of Healthcare Navigation: Knowledge before Crisis at the First Baptist Church of Blue Springs on Thursday, June 23.

Service Manager Julie Walter-Davis and the rest of the Neptune Society Kansas City team were the final presenters of a healthcare seminar designed to help seniors plan effectively for their futures. Other speakers focused on elder law, financial information, and long-term care claims.

The funeral planning presentation walked attendees through the process of planning a funeral with specific information about cremation preplanning. Walter-Davis and the Neptune Society Kansas City team explained how one can create a cremation or funeral plan with help from planning counselors and input from their loved ones. They also highlighted how proper planning can help ensure the security of one’s wishes for end-of-life care.

The Neptune Society Kansas City staff were not the only ones to emphasize the importance of funeral planning. Attorney Aaron Love who spoke about elder law earlier in the event talked about his own family when explaining the benefits of preplanning a funeral.

Many of the attendees had questions about funeral planning which Walter-Davis and other Neptune Society Kansas City staff were happy to answer. Some attendees chose to complete a survey like this one in order to receive more information about how to preplan a cremation in Kansas City or to answer other questions they may have had.

Walter-Davis plans to attempt to not only take this presentation to other churches in the area but also to partner with other organizations in Kansas City to help others start the funeral planning process.

Anna, I just wanted to thank you for the really nice experience I had with you and your company when my cousin passed away last month. I live in PA and had to rely on recommendations for your service. In addition, I paid for my cousin’s cremation a couple of years in advance hoping that there would be no problems when my cousin passed. Let’s be real for a minute, people.

You can plan and organize or choose not to,

but death is a train and it’s been on the tracks since birth.

When it comes, those left behind are in for a rough time.

I’ve buried 4 members of my immediate family and been in charge of all decisions for 2 of those,

so I know.

Neptune was like a warm blanket after a cold night in the field.

They handle things, call people and agencies that need to be called, get paperwork done,

respond quickly to inquiries, explain and organize options …

they get the job done.

I had other things to deal with of course,

but Neptune’s involvement was reassuring and dependable.

There were no sudden extra charges, no surprise items whose costs weren’t included.

Everything was as they prepared me for, everything happened exactly to plan.

They cared for my mother last month.

They’ll be caring for my wife someday, and me as well.

Their service was that solid.

I could have tried to pay less

but it wouldn’t have been worth it.

I know that for a fact now.

Get this done, people.

Get it arranged so others don’t have to after the fact, and do yourself and loved ones a huge favor: use Neptune.
