Neptune Society’s corporate office formed a team to run in the Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run on Thursday, April 6th. The team ran and walked a total of five kilometers through downtown Ft. Lauderdale, FL to promote healthy living and active lifestyles for corporate employees. Twenty-five members of the corporate office ran alongside representatives from companies all around Ft. Lauderdale.
The number of participants in Neptune Society’s team doubled from their participation last year. Coworkers from the service, accounting, web operations, and other departments all ran together. In addition, Neptune Society regional service managers from across the country who were visiting the corporate office that week were also able to run with Neptune Society Vice President of Services Jim Baron.
Neptune Society’s fastest runner was Financial Analyst Dennis Norris who completed the 5-kilometer run in 25 minutes and 26 seconds with an overall pace of 8 minutes and 10 seconds per mile. To put that in perspective, that was under ten minutes behind the first place winner of the entire run.
The Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run had 8,272 registered participants from 268 companies. The race included employees from all kinds of industries including banking, government, health, engineering, technology, manufacturing, non-profits, and more.
The run was organized by TeamFootworks, a 503(c) non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting fitness education through education materials and events like the Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run.
