Purple Run/Walk 2015 San Antonio

Our office will be participating in the Purple Run/Walk 2015 San Antonio on Sunday, November 22, 2015, with activities starting at 8am. Everyone is invited to join us!
The Purple Run is in support of domestic violence awareness.
74% of all Texans have experienced domestic violence in their life or know someone who has. The Battered Women and Children’s Shelter of Bexar County and the Kristine Meza Foundation (which provides educational support to victims of domestic violence), present this 5K Purple Run/Walk annually.
The run will feature vendor tables, food trucks, activities for kids and it is even pet friendly! A balloon release and a Wall of Honor will be presented to show support of those who have been affected by domestic violence.

The San Antonio Neptune Society joined together to volunteer at the San Antonio State Hospital to provide a wonderful opportunity for patients and their families to join together for a Thanksgiving dinner. Volunteers assisted with everything from check in, seating, serving, delivering meals, drink or dessert stands, a family photo booth, set up and clean-up. Many of these patients are not be able to be home on Thanksgiving day, so this event allowed families to be together during the season. With support and assistance from their husbands, Lori Adamson, service manager, and Callaghan Hernandez served over 400 patients and their family members.
South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) Fisher House Breakfast

Neptune Society San Antonio treated the Veterans and their families of South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) Fisher House to breakfast. The VA Fisher House is a “home away from home” for families and patients receiving medical care within STVHCS. Veterans or active duty military personnel receiving treatment at STVHCS may stay at the Fisher House, if accompanied by a family member or caregiver. The new, 16-suite, Fisher House provides lodging, completely free of charge, for these families during their stay, playing a critical role in supporting Veterans. The South Texas VA Fisher House features a common, fully stocked kitchen, spacious dining room, inviting living room and laundry facilities. Each room has a private bathroom with a shower and all rooms are equipped with a TV.

Men’s Health Week Breakfast
Neptune Society of San Antonio hosted a free breakfast on June 17 in honor of Men’s Health Week. Neptune Society invited all Neptune Society members and families of those Neptune Society has served, as well as local hospice and health care workers, local business establishments, and the general public to join the Neptune Society’s San Antonio office team for a casual, free breakfast and to learn more about health issues common to men and boys
