

Thomas Ira Stearns passed away at his Kissimmee, Florida residence on April 14, 2023. Born in Orlando, FL on November 9, 1962, Tom was the son of Robert Stearns, Sr. and Eloise Stearns Conley. Tom was a graduate of Maynard Evans High School, Pine Hills, FL. He graduated from Circle in the Square Professional Acting School, New York NY, and attended Rollins College, Winter Park, FL. Tom served in the United States Army as an M1A1 Tanker during Desert Storm, earning a Bronze Star with Valor, General Patton Award for Top Soldier, three Army Commendations, and two Army Achievement Medals.
Tom held various acting roles in theatre, television, and movies in Orlando, Winter Park, New York City, Los Angeles, and Charleston SC. His most familiar roles were in "Armageddon," "American Gangster," "HBO's From the Earth to the Moon" series, and "Dear John." Tom supplemented his acting career with various restaurant jobs, and was an actor for five years at Universal Studios Theme Park in Orlando.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Kelly Stearns Seech. He is survived by two sisters and one brother; Robin Stearns Lee (John), Jamestown SC; Robert Stearns, Jr. (Karen), Kissimmee, FL; and Kasey Stearns Barreras (Rafael), Groveland, FL, and several nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
