John Wayne Head

John Wayne Head of Elko, GA passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021. John was born in Hawkinsville, GA to the late Jack and Bernice Head. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Sewell Head, and his brother Jesse Head.

John was a member of Haynesville First Baptist Church. He worked as a truck driver before retirement and enjoyed gardening and working in the yard.

He is survived by his wife, Margery Overturf Head; son, Scott Head; son, Jason (Kaitlyn) Head; son, Casey (Diane) Head; 2 adopted children, Martha Elizabeth Head and Joseph Tillman Head; step-daughter, Margerie (Mac) Rogers; step-son, David (Elizabeth) Kronsted; brother, JT (Patsy) Head; sister, Mary (Sam) Powell; sister, Jackie (Duane) Britt; and many grand and great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at Haynesville First Baptist Church in Haynesville, GA on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM with interment immediately following the service. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church.
