

Morgan Lynnclare Loper, born November 13, 1981, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2026, at home in Smyrna, Tennessee.
Born in Pascagoula, Morgan grew up in Middle Tennessee, where she formed lifelong friendships and a deep connection to her community. She graduated from Giles County High School in Pulaski, Tennessee (Class of 2000), and Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Mississippi (Class of 2004), earning her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Morgan dedicated her professional life to helping others, working with compassion and care at Health Assist Tennessee and Vanderbilt Writing Studio.
Morgan met the love of her life, Rohan Chavan, and the two were married on April 4, 2009. Together they built a life grounded in love and partnership, recently celebrating their 17th wedding anniversary just a day before her passing.
Morgan was preceded in death by her best friend, Jessica Bell (Marter); her cousin, Suzanne Sneed Lamon; her step-mother, Kathy Loper; and her grandparents, Dora Belle and Delmas Sneed, and Marie and Henry Loper Sr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rohan Chavan; her parents, Henry Loper (Lisa) and Sue Loper; and her parents-in-law, Shashi and Narayan Chavan. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Carol Dunaway, Warren Loper, and Fagan and Elizabeth Sneed; her siblings, Matthew Mathany, Amanda VanDerHeyden, DeeDee Loper Yeager (David), Donald Loper (Paige), and Michael Loper (Carol); and her siblings-in-law, Shilpa Lad (Sushant) and Jenifer Wisdom (Tim).
Morgan is also lovingly remembered by her God-children, Janey Clare and Jackson Bell; her nieces and nephews, Bonnie and Will Shivers, Kyle, Dexter, Ashly and Denton Loper, Steven Scott, Ben and Kate VanDerHeyden, Jacob Mathany, and Rishaan Lad, And great nieces Sophie and Havannah. She also leaves behind dear family friends, Sneha and Sai Rao, along with their daughter, Shreya.
Morgan had a special place in her heart for children and animals. Her beloved kitties—Gus Gus, Jaques, and Bit—brought her great joy, as did her late sweet dog, Morty, and late cats Gideon, Zoe, and Percy, as well as Oreo the guinea pig, who remained dear to her heart.
Morgan will be remembered for her kind heart, her compassion, and the love she gave so freely to family, friends, and all living things. Though her time here was far too short, the impact she made will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
