Robert (Bob) Lee Haug was born in Granite City Illinois on January 4th, 1933, to Vivian and Charles Haug. He was the first of five siblings.
His parents and brother, Carl and first wife Patricia preceded him in death.
Bob often said that “God has given me just about everything I’ve ever wanted.” However, he said when he was young, he went to church to meet girls.
To his first marriage to Patricia (nee) Thomson, 3 children were born Tame’, Timothy and Robert II.
In 2008 he married Angela Barnes. With Angela he went to spiritual centers, poetry readings and almost anything to be with her. They authored a book titled ‘Bamboozled and outmaneuvered—he says, she says.’ He said it was his freedom of speech book.
Bob was employed by the Illinois Dept. of Transportation and retired after 24 years. He also worked at Fairmont Park and Cahokia Downs racetracks for many years—he said, “until they broke the union” and then he retired.
