Anne relocated to Sarasota, Florida from Falls Church, Virginia in 2003. She was a career flight attendant who spent 42 years traveling the world with United Airlines. After retirement she began her second career as co-founder of Rowena’s Teas at the historic Cherry Hill Farmhouse. Tea with Mrs. Blaisdale was noted as the ‘best kept secret’ in Falls Church, Virginia.
Upon relocating to Sarasota Anne became an involved participant in the community. She was an active member of Friends of the Sarasota Ballet, The Sarasota Opera Guild, and the Historian for the GFWC Woman’s Club of Sarasota. Life in Sarasota enabled Anne to reunite with old friends from across the pond. She was a cinephile and accomplished artist. Watercolors were her preferred medium. Anne loved to entertain and was an avid reader who enjoyed hosting lively book club discussions. She spent many summers surrounded by the beauty of the Canadian Maritimes and enjoyed researching her ancestry.
Anne is survived by her sister Jane MacLean Higgins of Sarasota; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Nancy MacLean of Antigonish, Nova Scotia; as well as thirteen loving nieces and nephews.
