

Cliff was born on October 20, 1947 to the late Dillard V. Byrd and Earline Smith Byrd in Monroe, LA. He grew up in West Monroe, LA. and attended West Monroe High School. After high school graduation he joined the United States Air Force. After returning from serving his country he attended Northeast Louisiana University where he studied Construction Management and married his high school sweetheart. He started his career in Louisiana as a general contractor and was the President of the Northeast Louisiana Home Builders Association. In 1989 he and his wife, Sharan, relocated to Naples, FL. where he started Specialty Building Services, Inc.
He was a gifted entrepreneur and mentored others as they achieved their business goals. Cliff loved to laugh and was very fond of a good joke. He loved to share his jokes and make people laugh. Friends and neighbors describe him as a kind and gentle man with great integrity and humility. He had a warm smile for everyone he came across, and was the type of person who made your day brighter after crossing his path. He had an adventurous side to him and went on to obtain his pilots license and SCUBA certification in addition to visiting over 50 countries. He loved to travel, but his greatest love was his family.
He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Sharan; his daughter, Kristy (Kevin) Rea of Naples. He also leaves behind his adoring grandsons Tyler and Peyton Rea; Sisters Janice (Larry) Brown, and Gretta Russell of West Monroe, and aunt Betty Foster, also of West Monroe.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at First Naples Church; 3000 Orange Blossom Drive. Enter through the Fellowship Hallway between the Worship Center and Church Office on the Livingston Rd side.
