

Passed away May 8, 2021 in Fort Myers, FL after a brief illness.
• She was born in the Bronx, NY and grew up in Elmont, NY, where she graduated from Elmont Memorial High School (class of 67’).
• She lived in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia for 30 years before relocating to Cape Coral, FL.
• Denise attended the Mandl School, College of Allied Health (medical laboratory technology) and Tidewater Community College (A.A. visual arts).
• Her life-long love of the arts was realized through her photography, paintings, and drawings, which were often inspired by her passion for life by the beach.
• She enjoyed walking the coastline of southwestern Florida, collecting seashells on Sanibel Island, capturing the sunset on the Gulf of Mexico, visiting museums, attending art shows, reading horror fiction (the movies were rarely as good as the books), writing poetry, and finding intimate restaurants in interesting places.
• She also loved spending time with family and friends.
Denise was predeceased by her parents, George and Rita Otero, and brothers Michael Otero and Robert Otero.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Shannon Primm Nuckols (William) of Chesapeake, VA, and Keith Elliot Primm of Yakima, WA: Her sisters, Debbie Otero-Rose (Fred) of Bohemia, NY, Patrice Otero (Matt Fisher) of Locust Grove, GA, her brother Chris Otero (Donna) of Cape Coral, FL, along with several nieces and nephews, and grandchildren.
A private family celebration of life will be held in Fort Myers, FL at a later date.
