

Maurice Allen (Bubby) Corwin, 86, of North Venice, passed away August 2, 2022 at Shorepoint Hospital Venice, Florida. He was born May 11, 1936 in Annawan, IL, The third child to Vernon and Lois (Bennett) Corwin.
He graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1955 where he excelled in athletics. He played football with a broken wrist for a majority of his Senior year. He enjoyed his time at Wethersfield also singing in the swing chorus. After high school he enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1959. He was a carpenter and owned and operated Bennett Sheet Metal in Kewanee for several years. Upon selling the business he moved to Florida were he resided until his death.
His hobbies included hunting and fishing and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sarah Asbell Corwin; brother, Terry (Anita) Corwin of Odon, IN; three sons, Maurice Allen (Patricia) Corwin Jr. of Sheffield Il, Chuck V. Corwin (Robin Smith) of Nokomis Florida and Perry M. Corwin (Jenny Doss) of Goldsboro, NC; two grandchildren, Caitlyn (Adam) Demay of Annawan, IL and Chuck M. (Cacia) Corwin of Venice, FL; three great grandchildren, Rilynn and Jaelynn Demay and Fletcher Corwin; two bonus great-grandchildren, Finleigh and Gryffin Mooney Corwin; many nieces and nephews ; as well numerous Bennett cousins.
Bubby was proceeded in death by his parents Vernon Corwin and Lois (Bennett) Corwin as well as one sister Joyce Winter of Kewanee, IL and brother Ronnie Corwin of Sarasota, Florida.
Memorial Services will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery with full military honors.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Neptune Society, Fort Myers.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
