Richard is survived by his older brother Arthur Rentz of CT and younger sister Susan Rentz

Johnson of Tennessee. Richard leaves behind daughters Marie Rentz Lawton of CT and Laura

Marie Rentz of Michigan. Richard is survived by ex wives Margaret V Poremba of CT and Janet

Mitzkus of Michigan. He was also grandfather of 3 and great grandfather of 4: Jillian Marie Mulkern along with husband Adam Mulkern and their children Samantha and Lucas. Lindsay

Ann Zawadski along with husband Aaron Zawadski and their children Alexandra and Adalyn. Taylor Lee Lawton and his wife Ari Lawton. Richard is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Marie Rentz and girlfriend Judith Szaboscan.

Richard was born in Bridgeport, CT. He served in the Navy from 1958 to 1962 on the

Submarine Tender USS Fulton ASII out of New London, CT. He served as the chief cook. Throughout Richard’s life his love of food grew. He catered parties and was also a meat cutter for many years as well as the seafood market. Richard moved to Florida in 1997 with his girlfriend, Judith, and began a new life after he had a tragic accident to his hand while employed as a meat cutter. During his years in Florida he enjoyed beginning a new life as a sober man and became very involved in AA. He led many meetings and sponsored other men as well. Richard (Richie) always kept busy working as a handyman. His hobbies included gun collecting and shooting, reading, crafts, cooking, and watching Wheel of Fortune with his “honey, Vanna”! Richard will be deeply missed by family, friends and all those who knew him. If you wish to leave condolences for Richard’s daughters they may be sent to Neptune Society in Fort Meyers, Florida.
