

John Ashley Leppink was born in Lewistown, Montana on October 21, 1938 to Alton and Mary Gin (Ashley) Leppink. He lived in Hedgesville and Harlowton where he attended school. He graduated from Montana State University and taught high school in Montana for 4 years and in Lebanon, Oregon for 31 years. He was a longtime elder in the Presbyterian Church, active in Lebanon Habitat for Humanity and AARP Taxaide. He continued his volunteer work with AARP Taxaide when they moved to Hillsboro in 1999.
Ash married Marietta Morgan in Columbus, Ohio on March 18, 1961. Their children were born while they lived in Custer, Montana.
Ash is survived by his wife and son David Morgan Leppink (Donna) of Salt Lake City, Utah and daughter Karen Gin Bryan (Michael) of Portland. Grandchildren are Kevin, Janelle, Elizabeth, Emma, Matthew, Ashlyn and Parker. Great grandsons Bradyn (mother Kyra) and Kostyn (mother Kisha) of Utah also survive. Brothers are Allen (Joyce) Leppink of Billings, Montana and Gary (Shelly) of Twodot, Montana. Two nieces also survive. His parents, grandson Andrew, a niece, and a nephew preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 2pm at the Reedville Presbyterian Church, 2785 SW 209th Aloha, OR 97003 at 2pm.
Memorials may be made to the Reedville Presbyterian Church memorial fund or AARP Foundation- Oregon Taxaide.
