Martha was a happy soul, full of love and respect for everyone she met. Those who knew her were better for it. She believed every day was a beautiful day, and she declared it often. One of her favorite songs was You Are My Sunshine, which she loved to sing with joy and warmth.
Her happiest years were spent living at New Danville, a special rural community in Willis, Texas, that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There, Martha found dignity, purpose, and a place where she truly belonged. Sadly, Alzheimer’s later took that away.
Martha was also a trailblazer, helping to improve rights and services for children with developmental disabilities. She loved life deeply and brightened every space she entered. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Unlimited Cottage and Devotion Hospice for their care and compassion during Martha’s final days.
She is survived by her loving mother, Della Perrin, and stepfather, Glenn Perrin; her brother, Todd Perrin, his wife, Staci, and their daughters, Kayla and Kelsey; her sister, Dawn Perrin, her husband, Brent Muehr, and their children, Addison and Colton; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who loved her greatly.
Martha was preceded in death by her father, Bert Mitchell; sister, Amy Mitchell; paternal grandparents, Leo B. Mitchell Sr. and Oleta May Toles Mitchell; and on her maternal side, grandmother Aurora Gill and her husband, Charles Norton.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:30 AM at The Woodlands Bible Church, located at 995 Pinyon Pine Dr., The Woodlands, TX 77380. Services will be officiated by Pastor Dale Inman, who baptized Martha in 2014 at Calvary Road Baptist Church in Willis, Texas.
