Scott Schwartz- All American! I have been blessed with many friends in my 76 years, of which Scott, for the last 32 years, was one of them. I could say, that I hunted Scott down to see if he was on FB. This was true. I had no idea where he lived so I decided to check Google and of course, he was all over the place. I saw a  contact #,  called and left a message. This was also true. Scott called me back within minutes and after my greeting him,  he asked who I was and thought he was fooling. I said, whats with you. I'm Mr. V. What did I call you, since I had many names.  But I go by and answered with VITO. Bingo! But he was shocked. And he explained why he was  doubtful. He had heard that I was killed 2 years before. From that point on we spoke regularly and even  Misty and Scott visited once in Ft Lauderdale and were invited by Misty to a red carpet preview to a Joe Piscopo and Paul Sorvino movie. What an experience.  We took pictures as well. Both Misty and Scott were a great couple and we feel your loss, Misty, but realize your loss is greater. Everytime we ended our calls, Scott would say, 'love ya. Vito' and I'd say, 'Love ya back.' We meant every word. It was a friendship that lasted from when I interviewed him for a job....and yes, I hired him. He was good at what he did, in all his endeavors and he was easy to like....but as the phrase go, whats not to like? Obviously many of us are going to miss you but we'll never forget you. 'LOVE YA BACK '

About 18 years ago, I was blessed with the chance to DP my first feature film. I was 20 and probably no business assuming that role but I worked so hard and felt like I was living my dream. By far though the biggest thrill was the day that Scott L. Schwartz came to film a small role as a barfly (despite being sober as a judge!). Being a huge Steven Soderbergh fan, the chance to work with one of the best characters from the Ocean’s 11 series (the unforgettable Bruiser) was the highlight of my nascent career.

When I got to to LA for grad school, my roommate Jonathan and I were planning a short film and somehow convinced Scott to drive out past Victorville and come play another larger than life role. He mentioned that he had plans for a film of his own he planned to direct - an ensemble anthology that he pitched as The Red Violin but with a gun. I told him I’d love to be involved.

So for the next 2 1/2 years we shot, scene by scene, his feature “Changing Hands” - and he drafted an incredible cast of actors, ex-wrestlers, and friends. I couldn’t help but be starstruck every time I pulled up to set… and constantly amazed by Scott’s ability to keep so many people so close to his heart. We traveled all over LA to places I never would have otherwise seen. We went to Vegas several times for that project as well as a docuseries pilot we filmed about former pro wrestlers. Everywhere we went, everyone knew him. I moved back to the East Coast but still saw Scott, a proud Philadelphian, on occasion. Not often enough. And in recent years we fell out of touch, though he was never far from my mind.

The world lost a giant man with a giant heart , and anyone who knew him is surely feeling the absence of his infectious, relentless energy.

Scott was an amazing man, father, husband, actor and friend. Jack loved him like a brother and is a better person because of him. Scott was the best friend anyone could ask for. He will never be forgotten and will be forever missed.  Jack & Jan Pacheco

I can say that I have truly been blessed for the last 20+ years, having had Scott as one of my closest and most dearest friends. 

We shared similar tastes in old TV shows and movies. We could on and on imitating Colonel Klink or Sargeant Schultz from Hogan's Heroes; or recalling various episodes of All In The Family. 

And then there was food. From wrestling to eventually acting, Scott had done a lot of traveling over the years. 

Whenever my job would send me somewhere out of state, Scott would ask where I was going and then tell me which places to eat at. He would say, "Hey, if you wanna know where the good places are to eat, just ask a fat man!" 

I made a point to always darken the doorways of the places he recommended.
I would text him pictures of the place and the meal I had. When he sent pictures of himself at restaurants he was suggesting, I would try to find where he had taken them at, and then send him pictures of me in the same spot. 

Fortunately, my job took me to New Orleans a couple times where I could visit and dine with Scott and Misty.

Misty, he loved you, kiddo. I remember all the phone calls and texts about this special girl he was so smitten over. That girl is you. Thank you for being his rock and love of his life. You did good, kid.

Scott was not a once in a million kind of friend, oh no, far more than that. You see, Scott was a once in a lifetime kind of friend. 

Thank you my friend, my brother from another mother. Love you, Scotty.

Over the years there have been a lot of people that the Lord has put in my life, some for a short time, some for longer, and some that have left an indelible mark in my heart. 
November 26,  I lost my very dear friend, Scott. Although Scott and I wrestled professionally during the same time period we never crossed paths until 2002 at the Cauliflower Alley Club, I was an Honoree that year, I spoke about my career and what I was doing now, Alicia’s House & PAKT. When I finished Scott came up and introduced himself and said he would like to get involved. I was thinking he was just saying that, why would a Hollywood star want to help a small food pantry in South Chicago Heights and a karate program in Beecher? We exchanged contact info and when I left that weekend I never knew how that meeting would change my life, and what path the Lord was putting before me…and how this giant of a man was going to walk beside me, be a shoulder to lean on, become a driving force in Alicia’s House and PAKT…and more than anything a friend and a brother. Scott called and we started this unbelievably amazing journey. We became fast friends, talking about the road, the wrestling business, and life in general. He became a driving force for Alicia’s House, he was at every golf outing, wrestling show and some of our Christmas events when he could make it in. When he would come in we would spend everyday trying to make a difference in the lives of those we came in contact with. I will always treasure the countless conversations, sharing unbelievable memories, visiting countless children’s hospitals, visiting schools, veterans homes and working together to raise money to feed people and help my karate kids get to the world championships. A few of the friendships I know Scott made along the way were with my granddaughters Amanda, and Gianna…and also my karate student Jenna…he had a very special bond with each of them and I know they are heartbroken and miss him. love you lots!!

I met Scott Schwartz as an actor on my first day of my second film (Lost In The Woods); we had every scene together. A comedic duo a la Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern in “Home Alone”. I was (obviously) immediately intimidated by his appearance… almost 7 feet tall, bald, dark goatee. We all do this. He probably was looking at me at just another tiny generic “white” actor type. But after the proverbial sniffing each other out, we became fast friends. Which only enhanced our on-screen work together. Although we were seemingly different as can be, we “got” each other and soon it was like we had been friends for years. And I give all of the credit for the majority of the ice breaking to Scott. He was the kindest, sweetest man with no sense of ego or attitude, but also knew what he could do with his presence when he needed to. And most of the time that was just for comedic effect. Scott made me laugh so so so much on set, and every time we got together afterwards. Which was often, but now, not often enough. We were an unlikely duo that pretty much had the same attitude and aligned on everything. And our shared  sense of (irreverent) humor was the glue. I am sad I never got to see him again, but I would’ve felt that way if I saw him a week ago. And I’m blessed for having known him and will always cherish the memories of the time we spent together.

Some of my earliest memories as a kid were of being in awe of my Dad’s humor and creativity. He was the funniest person I knew and it was always a great time to get some good food, watch and talk about movies, laugh together and be goofy in general.

When he met Misty, I saw his life blossom in such a beautiful way. Their love is an infinite love, and I know that him having her consistent, loyal, nurturing love was something so healing to him on a holistic level. 

I am so grateful that he got to see me get married, that he got to meet my wife, who he adored, and that we got to spend Father’s Day with him. 

I am sending him and all of his cherished friends and family so much love now and always.

Scott you will be so missed - I loved your sense of humor and I loved you.  I loved you for how you loved my sister Misty and her family.  From day one it was like you were always a part of us. You lived life and Misty has so many wonderful memories to carry with her. Love and miss you brother and will see you on the other side - Give mom (fiery redhead) a big hug for me 💔💔💔

Scott was a true friend and just an all-around great guy. Not only that I was sort of related to him. He is a cousin of my wife and when we first met years ago we found out we grew up in the same area went to the same high school 20 years apart of course 😂😂.  We became instant friends and I will certainly miss him everyday. I could always count on him for a great story and certainly a great joke many of which I would not be able to share here 😂  but that's why I love the guy.  RIP my friend !

Being 6’4”, Scott was one of the rare few I actually had to look up to. But it wasn’t because he was a couple of inches taller. It was because of the immensity of his heart. Although Scott’s size would be intimidating to those of ill will, it was also mesmerizing to a child of ill health…laying frightened and in pain in a hospital bed. It was there that Scott grew even larger in his efforts to make these innocent little ones laugh and forget their misfortune. Scott once said to me that although he has had an incredible life working with the Hollywood elite, nothing made him happier than making a child laugh. And that is why I am honored to call Scott my brother. And I miss him terribly. Some would say R.I.P. stands for Rest In Power. For my brother, I say Rest In Peace, the peace you have earned and deserve. Love you,  Scott.

Scott was my brother from another mother. We met 20 years ago at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Academy where we were both recruits. One day, we were having our 30-minute lunch break on the quad, and I looked over at this giant and wondered to myself if he was a skinhead. I gave him hard eyes. He returned the same to me. I approached him, cautiously. I said, "What is your name?" He said, "Schwartz." I said, "Are you Jewish?" He said, "Yeah, what about it?" I said, "Get your ass over here, we're the only two Jews here." We became best friends and not a day went by for 20  years when we didn't speak to each other. I loved him more than words can say. Miss you forever. Thank you for being such a wonderful wife, Misty. Reserve Sgt. Ken Green (and Mrs. Ken Green).

I have only had the privilege of knowing Scott for four years but am truly so grateful and touched by his life. As his daughter-in-law, Scott was nothing but warm, kind, gentle, and loving to me. I will never ever forget how his face and voice would completely light up whenever he got a call from his daughter Angela. When we surprised him with a Father’s Day visit this summer, he was full of surprise, joy, and tenderness. I can still feel the palpable love in that room and carry it with me. His jokes still crack me up and he is and will be dearly missed.

Thank you so much to Misty for being such a great example of love and support in marriage, we love you.

I will miss my good friend Scott. Scott was a very caring and thoughtful friend. I will always remember and appreciate the time he came to my workplace at UCLA,  on Thanksgiving , and brought me Thanksgiving dinner, as I was working a double shift, that day. Thank you, Giant. I will always remember you ❤️.

I met Scott while visiting LA, when I was a budding filmmaker. We never ended up making a film, but my idea was that I wanted to make a documentary about his upbringing. 

A sweet thing that I noticed about him was his gentleness. When Scott walks into any room, he's the center of attention. But he treated everyone with a gentleness than can only come from a compassionate heart. And that was none too clearer than the way he ate his rice at the Chinese restaurant we were meeting at, with the elegance of an aristocrat. 

Loved our chats and the few but memorable interactions we did have throughout the years.

Friends for almost 40 years. Scott was the best, truly helped me through losing my dad, brother in law and recently my divorce. I am going to truly miss my big friend!!

Scott was larger than life, but the same can be said for his personality, his generosity, and his humanitarianism.  I met Scott approximately 15 years ago when I was working at one of the many conventions he attended, and we became immediate friends.  I missed seeing Scott over the years but we would still converse through text.  I am going to miss Scott terribly as a true friend!  Misty and family, you have my sincere and deepest condolences.  My prayers are with you all.

It has been a week and I still can’t accept it. I will miss our conversations that made us laugh. You will and always will be my brother.

Mr. Scott was truly a special one of a kind human being, and friend.  He was one of my first customers and was always so caring and welcoming towards me.  There wasn’t one time that he failed to make me laugh.  His energy and personality brightened every day that I visited him and his wife, Misty.  Scott will never be forgotten because of the positive impact he made in my life.

Scott was always laughing & joking. He loved to make me laugh while I was there helping take care of him.
