Mary Oleta Denton

She was born in 1922 at Knott, Texas to Robert B. Turner and Effie Gaskins Turner. Mary grew up in Howard County with her brothers Thomas E., Bobby R. and Glen R. Turner. She married her childhood sweetheart, Leon W. "Pete" Denton in 1940 and they eventually settled in Hereford Texas, living there for the remainder of Pete's life. Mary then moved to the Fort Worth area to be close to her adopted daughter and family.

While in Hereford, she worked for Stapp Chiropractic Clinic and was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ. Lively and active until the very end of her life, Mary was a force to be reckoned with and leaves her three grandchildren, their spouses and five great grandchildren with many fond family memories.
