

Terry Lee (Doc) Doolittle, of Plant City, Florida was born 29 Sep 1946, in Miami, Florida and passed away 21 Aug 2025, at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Frances B. Williams, Father, Dale Sherwood Doolittle, Brother, Dennis Dale Doolittle and first wife Patricia C. Baker Bachelor. Terry is survived by his loving wife, Dale Christian Doolittle, brother, James Kevin Doolittle, brother-in-law, Charles B. Christian, Jr. M.D., sisters-in-law, Dianne E. Coccia-Christian and Rose P. Christian, nieces, Angela D. Christian, Sherry M. Christian, and nephews, John B. Christian, Andrew C. Christian and Matthew B. Christian.
Terry spent his younger years on Conch Key, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1971 and served in the Vietnam War as a Combat Engineer. He separated honorably from the Army in 1976 and began a lifelong career as a Construction Superintendent. He supervised construction projects in 21 states, completing more than $640 million of construction work.
Terry’s company, Matthews Construction, was given the job of constructing the new Plant City Hall in 2001. He was then hired by Plant City as their Plan Examiner and Building Inspector, a position he held for 15 years until his retirement in 2017.
The Family would like to thank the Staff of Moffit Cancer Center, AdventHealth Connerton, Lifepath Hospice and the Visiting Angels for their care and compassion. Deep appreciation is also extended to Dr. Saira Khan, their long time family physician for her personal and caring attention.
A private family burial-at-sea memorial ceremony off the shore of Conch Key is planned according to Terry’s wishes.
