John was the son of the late John and Apollonia Vandenberg. Beloved husband of the late Susan; father of John (Amy), Holly Wilson (Ryan), and step-father of Aimee Dray. Cherished grandfather to John, Lillian, Hannah Wilson, the late Nathan Wilson, and a cherished Papa to Jacob Lorkovic. Beloved brother of Johanna Reekers (Arnold), Jack (Norma), and Jayne Rembielak (Alan).
Preceded in death by his siblings, Pauline Hollmann (Max), Anthony (Cheryl), Margaret Wilken (John), Harry (Mary), Mary Neelands (Jack), Petronella Benton (Robert), and Leonard (Loretta). Uncle of 31, great-uncle of 45, and great-great-uncle of 32.
John was blessed by his lifelong friendship with Jeff Corbacho (Judy) and countless other friends. He was an avid fisherman, euchre player, and proud veteran of the United States Army.
