Just after midnight on Friday, December 18th, 2020, in Spokane, Washington, Emily Jo (Andrews) Kile discarded her broken, earthly body and is now happy and whole with God. She died from complications of Parkinson's Disease. She was 74.
Emily was born on April 16, 1946 in Cullman, Alabama to R. L. and Ida (Patterson) Andrews, the youngest of 5 children. After several moves around Texas, Emily moved to Spokane with her parents where her father accepted a job preaching for the Northside Church of Christ. It was there that she met Timothy J. Kile. They were married on October 15, 1965. Together they raised three children, Gina Marie, Matthew, and Miranda.
Emily was a faithful servant of the Lord all her life. Throughout the years she taught many children's and ladies' Bible classes. On several occasions she was the keynote speaker at various Ladies' Retreats. She also wrote volumes of Bible class curriculum for children and women. In 1997 and 2004 she had books published containing Bible studies for women, about women of the Bible (These Are the Times That Try Women's Souls and Women of Triumph, Women of Tears).
Tim and Emily had just celebrated 55 years of marriage in October. She was a stay-at-home wife and mother all of those years. She was a tangible example of the woman described in Proverbs 31, always providing good food, clothes, and a welcoming home for her family. "...a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise..." Proverbs 31: 30-31.
Even though Emily was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in April of 2011, she never stopped loving on her family. Her arms were always open for a hug and her lap was always available for someone to occupy while she read a story. She was happiest with a grandchild in her arms.
Emily was preceded in death by her father R. L. Andrews and her mother Ida Andrews; her brothers Sigmond Andrews and David Andrews, and by her sister Celeste Blackburn. She is survived by her husband Tim Kile; three children, Gina Marie (and Stuart) Heritage, Matthew (and Mali) Voloshin-Kile, and Miranda (and Dan) Heath; six grandchildren, Larissa Wardrip, Lasha Voloshin, Tanner Brown, Jaycilyn Jefferson, Madilyn (and Caleb) (Heath) Succo, and Randy Heath; three great-grandchildren, Jack Wardrip, Cruze Wardrip, and Reece Wardrip; and one brother, R. Pat Andrews.
Due to current circumstance regarding Covid, no memorial service is planned at this time.
