Lanny R Schwartz

Lanny was born in New York 76 years ago to Jack and Muriel Schwartz. He lived in South Florida from the early 70’s through 2009, where he then retired to Ocala, Fl. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patti; mother, Muriel; sister, Ellen and her husband, Rob.

Lanny had fond memories of his college years, earning his BA at NY’s Ithaca College followed by his Masters in Psychology at Eastern New Mexico University. This resulted in his 30 year career in the mental health/ substance abuse field, where he was able to help many people improve their lives.

Lanny was valued for his intelligence, good judgment, quick wit and solid values. He was well read due to his unquenchable quest for knowledge. He enjoyed sports, especially baseball and horse racing. He and Patti traveled extensively within the United States, Canada and other countries around the world. Lanny especially enjoyed the variety of foods on the many cruises they took throughout the years.
