It’s three years later now, and I’m currently sitting on my couch watching old youtube videos to help comfort myself while grieving the loss of one of my own family members. While watching a minecraft video, I heard Brett’s voice and started crying. Again, I never knew Brett personally, but his presence in the Scottland videos were such an integral part of my teen years. It was surreal listening to him speak in the video and realizing he’s no longer here. I know the anniversary of his death just passed a few weeks ago; I want to send my thoughts and love to Katie, his family, and close personal friends. I hope you all are able to look back on the numerous videos of him and remember him fondly.

Knew Brett for a short time but reading everyone's beautiful memories made me realize it didn't take long for you to see he had a heart of gold. I'll never forget how Brett and his buddies let a youngster like myself feel welcome and heard. Thank you for sharing your light to the world we will forever be indebted to your fun-loving soul.

When i first time watched your video about on illegal download songs, that was brilliant and freshest video on the internet. I couldn't able to stop laugh at the time. You were creative, amazing and cheeeful there as always.
but you gone too soon buddy, it is hard to accept to me still.

I used to host One Night Ultimate Werewolf games on boardgamegeek.com quit regularly. For a could of year, I was obsessed with hidden role games and came across Brett's channel. I watched religiously for a while and even based my BGG's Play By Forum game's upon Brett's all-Tanner game. It had slightly different rules but I wouldn't have had the idea with his.

While I only knew Brett from his videos on YouTube, I could tell he was an amazing person. My condolences for the entire family.  His videos brought me 15 minutes of pure laughter three times a week, and for that I felt like I knew him as a friend.

Although I never met Brett in person or had a personal interaction with him, I felt as if I knew him very well. The videos on his channel and how he got people together is a rare talent that I wish I had. He's a shining star in this world. He's the sole reason why I got into One Night Werewolf and I will always think about every time I play. Rest easy Brett ❤️

My daughter Beatrix (who was 8 at the time) loved One Night Ultimate Werewolf and found the  Bouncin Mouncin channel on YouTube and was obsessed. I think we watched every video 3 times. At Christmas I reached out to Brett over Twitter asking if him and Katie could make a video wishing her a Merry Christmas and he immediately got back to me and they sent a lovely video back to us that legitimately made her whole Christmas. It was such a lovely thing to do. I am so sorry to hear about his passing and send love to all his friends and family.

I stumbled onto his youtube channel many years ago. He was a very down to earth guy. I did hope to travel one day to "Texas" and play some board game with him and the gang. I love the way he laughed and there are too many times to point out just one of thing silly thing that he did which made me laugh. Much love from Zimbabwe.

I work for Food Lion. I didn't personally know Brett. After I read that he did standup comedy locally I asked my daughter who recently went to a few shows if she had heard of the Dumpster Dudes.  She just so happened to have a video of Brett in a group called the Stinky Boys.  I downloaded the video. He was a funny guy. My condolences to his family!

I liked the funny game we would play with each other almost putting each other down, or challenging each other. I remember you as confident, funny and observant. When I first met Brett, it was when he was doing improv with the Plan B Improv Group, he was truly a funny guy!!  It was awesome to always see him and his Dumpster Dudes when the started performing at the Push Comedy Theater.  He will be missed, may You rest in peace and my family and I send our deepest condolences to his family. 

Brett was truly one of the best friends you could ever hope to have. Not only was he the funniest guy in the room who could make you laugh guaranteed, but he was truly caring. He helped me through some hard times. Sometimes that meant playing games together, or randomly sending surprise pizzas to each other places halfway across the country. Other times it meant a text or chat to check in, he was compassionate and thoughtful always.  I will miss him forever. I am sending all of my love to Katie, Brett's family, and his friends in VB.  

We were so honoured to attend Brett and Katie’s wedding in 2018.  The love they had for each other was beautiful to see.  We all enjoyed the photo booth with the many props.  The evening of karaoke was FUN.  Their love of life was very embracing.  Reading all the posts tonight, my heart filled up for all the love, care and inspiration Brett showed others all over the world.  And for all the love out in the world for Brett.  💕. I liked this pic of Brett and the prop (of course) before the wedding.  We have many pics and videos to see your smile and hear your laughter.    We will miss you. I remember watching a lot of Brett's collaborations with Mike Peterson on YouTube back in 2009-11 and I thought, "wow, this is a guy whose sense of humor aligns with mine." I found somebody who had the same anxieties and idiosyncratic way of viewing the world that I dealt with, only that he made videos about Dunkin Donuts and being a robot. I've always wanted to collaborate with him because I thought he was supremely underrated in the wider context of the internet. My heart goes out to his widow Katie, his friends Mike and Eric and Kevin Montgomery, and all others who knew Brett during his 31 years. He will be sorely missed.

Brett was one of the funniest improv’ers I had met when I found the Push Comedy Theatre. His laugh was one of a kind; he will be missed dearly.

One of the funniest human beings who has ever walked the planet. A loving and kind soul who set out to make others laugh and be happy. Wherever he is now is a better place with him there.

Hi.  Im Ryan Clemens.  I had the honor of performing in improv games with Brett. He was the kind of performer that you love to perform with, a person who celebrates the fun of working together in a scene.  A guy that you just delight in being around because of his humor and creativity and giving nature.  I am very sorry and send sympathy to Brett’s family and friends. 

Brett and I played this legacy boardgame on the switch and what it became was just 3 or 4 hours of us just doing bits for each other. He was so genuinely fun and it was just so effortless. This was for no one else in the group just to make us laugh.  It felt like a ran a marathon after a game with him. I can't remember any of the nonsense but just how my sides would hurt from laughing so hard.
It was such a treat and I wish I did that more, I wish I played more Wingspan with him and I regret that I didn't. He had such a wonderful laugh. It's one of those things, where making Brett laugh meant so much more because, he was one of the funniest people I knew.

You are one of the funniest, kindest people I have ever known. Rest well.

I discovered Brett through online videos made by Mike Peterson when I was 13 and became instantaneously magnetized by the most infectious sense of humor I've ever seen. Never in a million years would I have expected one thing to lead to another, in which a year later not only would I suddenly start interacting with this person through now-legendary social media sites like Dailybooth or Turntable, but was invited by him into the most genuine sense of community that an isolated 14-year-old could never have found outside their door. Creating silly stories via late-night Skype calls and podcasting about movies are a mere percent of the things we did that made me feel like I truly had someone who listened and understood, all while making me laugh harder like no one ever had (or still has). No one made a more formative impact on me as a young person and I will never forget it. The same year I started talking to him, Brett at some point started selling t-shirts of his own name that came in at least twenty different colors. Naturally, I jumped at the chance. This weekend I checked my closet and saw it hanging. I'm 25 now. It still fits.

While I have never met Brett in real life, I wish that I could have. His humor resonated with me over this past decade when I first discovered him. His videos have always kept me going through some rough times in my life and I am grateful for that. It just goes to show that he touched the lives of people everywhere. He may be gone, but he will definitely never be forgotten. 

Brett’s YouTube series ‘Is This Good’ talking about movies,  helped me though a tough time in my life when I felt lonely. Brett’s videos were always hilarious and he had such a unique sense of humour. I looked forward to the videos coming out, he brought joy and humour to a time in life where I didn’t have a lot of it. I will always be very thankful to him for that.

Knew Brett through his YouTube and discord channel. He was a smart and intelligent deceiver which made me laugh and smile through his game play, in particular One Night Ultimate Werewolf. I learnt from watching him on his channel, and starting hosting my own games from him.

I’ve been watching Brett’s youtube content for almost a decade now. His style of comedy has had such an impact on my humour today. It’s so hard to realise that he’s gone. Rest in Paradise, king. 

This is my favorite picture of Brett. I ordered Katie a sweatshirt that was designed for cuddling probably a cat, but I thought Brody would fit. Katie was a little unsure about it when it arrived, said Brody was a little unsure about it, then a bit later I get this picture of Brett rocking it and Brody...still unsure. I will always remember how supportive he was of anything Katie wanted to do. He was a good sport through photoshoots where I proceeded to take way too many pictures trying to not miss any special moments or shared smiles between Katie and Brett. I will miss so many things, they were the hosts of fire pit nights, game nights, and pasta nights with friends. I will miss Katie telling me the cute stories of being married to the love of your life. I will miss the next photoshoots that were planned. I will miss the random calls where I would suddenly be battling Katie in Harry Potter trivia. I will miss him performing comedy and trying to make others laugh. Brett was good people, he so giving and caring, he always went big in showing his support for others. I will miss him so much, he was loved by so many kind people who are now here to support each other. 

Brett was a man who you could never hate. He was always (and still is) lovable.  Brett's sense of humor shaped part of my humor and his videos formed my childhood. He always made me laugh and was a genuine soul. He would always do anything to help someone who needed it.

I spoke to Brett many times via Twitter and Discord from 2016 to last year. When I reached out to him and showed him my videos remixing his videos, he immediately loved them!

I remember asking Brett if he wanted to star in a video of mine and he obliged. It was the highlight of my entire video career. I was star-struck and the happiest I could ever be.

I wish I got to meet Brett in person because he was only a state away from me. The memories I have of him I will cherish forever in my heart. He impacted me and many others through laughter and love.

Rest easy, Brett. 

I'm a member of a small niche of internet content creators called YTPMVers, and a lot of us would use videos made by Brett and his friend, Mike Peterson, for our remixes and edits. As a result, we have a deep appreciation for both Brett as an on-screen personality, as well as a person. We're all mourning his loss, and I can't begin to imagine what his loved ones must be feeling right now. Fly high, Brett. You changed thousands of lives for the better.

Although I’ve never actually met Brett in person, he has always been a shining light in my life via his online presence. Everything he’s contributed in - Pretty Much It, Dumpster Dudes, OneNight videos, or playing Quiplash - made me feel less alone as a kid who struggled making friends. I remember when I performed in an improv group for the first time in front of an audience, Brett and the crew sent me words of encouragement. He always remembered me & my name anytime I tuned in or joined in to play games with the crew.  He never failed to make me laugh and put a smile on my face. Sending all of my love to Katie, Dustin, Dylan, and the rest of Brett’s family & friends. 

We have known Katie for 18 years. We consider her our bonus daughter.  So as soon as Brett entered Katie’s life he was part  of our family as well, and we loved him as such. We will remember all the game nights, playing Oh Heck, family get togethers, and the New Year’s Eve celebrations. Brett was  kind , fun loving and brought laughter to everyone. I have fond memories of Brett from our internet friendship. I remember he always had a perfectly-timed comedic remark for any situation. He was such a charming character he once convinced our whole friend group to change all our profile pictures to a silly photo of him for a day on April 27th 2012. Reading all the memories people have left for Brett, it’s clear to see he positively impacted so many people through this life. Rest in peace old friend ❤️

I did not know him but from what I saw he always did right and had fun doing it. A life taken far sooner than needed. I wish his family peace in this time and to remember the laughs.

Brett was truly a one of a kind. We drove from Wisconsin to spend the week in VA when Brett married my beautiful niece Katie. The instant I met Brett- I adored him. His infectious smile...kindess...of course his humor and mostly the way he loved Katie. It was one of the most beautiful weddings and will forever be such a great memory in my mind

I'll always remember Brett as someone who was both incredibly talented and supportive. I had the pleasure of collaborating with him numerous times, mostly via Minecraft. He was a persistent creator, surrounding himself in the world of media and comedy. He was quick-witted, and he could conjure up humorous scenarios that were impressive and entertaining. His humor was a mix of irreverent, surprising, and kind. But he was so much more than he appeared on video. He was sincere. He was the type of friend who offered his enduring support, even through times when we were distant. I'll miss him, and I'll always wish we had more time to spend together. I feel for his family, and my heart goes out to them. 

The very first day I met Brad was the day of summer auditions 2021 I had just graduated Improv 101 and new to hampton. I clearly remember Brett and dustin behind me in line to sign up for what improv team we wanted to audition. When I heard them talking to Ed, I turned around to say hello! Brett and Dustin introduced theirselves quickly after I mentioned just graduating 101 and I specifically remember Brett telling me to not be nervous for auditions. I remember feeling so supported by two new people I had never even witnessed on stage but I knew they had my back as peers. As time passed I am stilling taking improv and I know how honored I feel seeing Brett in the audience after a show, always high-fiving students and making them feel safe. Safe to be theirselves. Just like Brett… so genuine and kind. He will be missed immensely.. thank you Brett for always inspiring me to be myself. 

I never knew Brett personally, but I used to watch the Scottland Minecraft videos he was in back when I was a teenager. He always seemed like such a genuine, down to earth guy and never failed to make me laugh. His comedy and content was a bright light for me when I was going through a really dark period in my life. I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated beyond belief, and my heart goes out to Katie and all of his loved ones. Brett touched the lives of so many people from all over, and will be greatly missed.

I met Brett nearly 10 years ago from online games (mostly Minecraft) and social networks, unfortunately never got to meet him in person. He right away was so friendly, inclusive and obviously hilarious. I keep fond memories of goofing around with him, watching his livestreams and Youtube videos, talking late at night doing nonsensical things, sharing music, watching movies... It was a while ago but feels like yesterday still.  Not many could make me laugh as he could. I can only say thank you for those precious memories, I miss you my friend. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. 

Way too soon for Brett. Loved watching his quirky/odd behaviors onstage  during stand-up at the Cinema Cafe, and had the pleasure of working with him doing the weekly Wednesday improv shows there, and a few shows at the funnybone. He was kind enough to have a few of us over to his house a while back to film some hilarious sketches. Pretty much all of my memory of him is just how joyful and fun it was to be around him.

When I met Brett, his genuine, inclusive personality and top tier humor made me feel welcome. He was always so sweet, hilarious, and just a good ole goof who wanted his friends to all have a good ole time making memories together. He'd shared a kind thought he'd had once, when I needed it the most, and told me something which seems so silly and obvious now, but we almost never do: if you have a nice thought about someone, tell them, be that person who shares the love. That one little bit of advice changed my perspective forever, and I like to think it's made me a better person. I look back on those times with such a full heart, and it's all because of Brett.

Brett’s friendship with Mike, Eric, Jake , Dylan and Dustin led to a lot of very funny content over the years that always made me laugh and has stuck with me forever. His podcasts and comedy videos will always be on my mind and I thank him for always being so funny and for engaging with me online, to me he was a huge star and it was my honor to interact with him throughout the years.

When Brett first started playing ONUW on his Discord server, I thought it was the coolest thing ever that I got to play my favorite game with my favorite YouTuber. As we played games together, Brett became no less awesome, but less of a celebrity. He was always so friendly and open, and made me feel special and part of a community. His was the first online community I was a part of, and while he was not the direct cause of most of it, his community led to me getting into board games and meeting some of my closest friends online. Brett was just such a positive force for the people he interacted with online, and I'm very grateful to have known him.

I didn’t know Brett personally, but have followed his YouTube videos for years. He is one of the main reasons why One Night Ultimate Werewolf has become my favorite board game. Along the way, I have introduced it to dozens of friends and family members. It will be hard to play without thinking about him. He has touched so many people and it’s hard to believe he’s not here anymore. We’ll miss you Brett.

Brett was one of the funniest podcast personalities of my late teens. His podcast “Is This Good” was one of my favorites. I’m devastated to learn of his passing, he was a genuine personality and will be in our hearts forever.

I don't think Brett could've ever understood how many lives he made better just by being around. Brett became my friend during a lonely point in my life and without him I wouldn't have made many of the amazing friends I have today.  He made us a Minecraft server and called it Gongle (because it sounded snappy and funny).  We still use that name for our online adventures today. We have so many fun memories from that time that I'll always cherish.

I'm really going to miss you Brett. I never have and never will be able to hear Call Me Al without thinking of you. I'll remember you with every amazing movie or show I watch, especially Coherence.  Goofs, gaffs, laughs - you gave us so much. Thank you

Sadly, I never had the chance to meet Brett in-person. But his One Night Ultimate Werewolf Series was a big thing for me when I discovered it in the early days of the series, late 2017/early 2018. It was a big factor to get me into the hobby of board gaming. There is a bunch of heartwarming moments I remember from playing games together on the Discord channel. I did not realize that until now, but: From all the people I know, though never actually met, Brett is one of my favourites. If it is about Youtubers only, easily the number one. He has such a good character, which is probably the biggest reason for why I enjoy watching the videos and playing together via Discord so much. I am grateful that he created all these videos, as they allow such a large number of people to make his legacy live on. What better thing than dozens of hours of videos, all showing how much of a fun character Brett is, could you possibly leave behind...

I wish all his family members and friends all the best. Especially Katie, who I also got to know from the channel. And I am grateful for the many great moments that Brett brought into my life, as well as so many other's. We love you Brett :)

Brett had brought many great times to my childhood watching him and his friends in videos when I was younger. I always loved it when he showed up in those videos, and I made sure I supported him in the years to come, popping in to the occasional live stream and enjoying some of his board game videos. Brett touched a lot of lives with his humor, passion for board games, and determination to entertain people. I only knew and interacted with him online via YouTube, Discord, and Oculus, but from those interactions, his friendliness and inclusive attitude really shone bright. He will be severely missed.
