Michael William Andaloro of San Antonio, Texas, passed away January 10, 2022. Born May 23, 1946, in Rochester, New York, he was the youngest son of Nicholas and Maria Andaloro and brother to Andrew. Michael was a creator by nature. He was a trained scientist in biology, chemistry, and physics who ventured into a successful career in business as an implementation specialist and executive.
Michael, in youth, was a competitor who took on all challenges. He excelled in academics, athletics, and thrived in what many would call an adventurous childhood. His career flourished after he graduated from Fairleigh Dickenson University, in New Jersey.
The mysterious A.W. Mykel (Michael’s pseudonym) hit the literary world in 1980 with his acclaimed first novel The Windchime Legacy. He later published The Salamandra Glass and The Luxus, which landed on the best seller’s list across the country. His first-rate international spy thrillers have compelling, realistic covert operational action with authentic details outlining the art of assassination. This master of espionage and international intrigue exhibited an eerie understanding of how the netherworld of international espionage may have worked, which begged the questions who was A.W. Mykel? How much did he really know? Well, the FBI, in time, closed its investigation, and the results of that investigation will remain a mystery.
As a husband and father, he was supportive, encouraging, and engaging. Always present at events, whether the arts or sports, he was proud of his children’s accomplishments. Michael was a quiet man, but extremely funny and profound. His one-liners were perfectly timed and unforgettably hilarious. The memories he made, characters he created, and the impact he had on his family will live on for generations to come.
Michael loved the serenity that surrounded his later years in the Texas Hill Country. He was grateful for the life he lived, thankful for the time he had, and blessed with the family he raised. His sense of humor, generosity, and humanity will live on through us, his family.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Maria Andaloro; and his daughter, Amber. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Mykel (wife Jackie) and Theron (wife Seungyun); grandchildren, Tristen, Taylor, and Adeline; brother, Andrew; and extended family.
He will be dearly missed by his family. Heaven gained a caring, watchful, and protective angel with Michael. He is finally reunited with his daughter, Amber. They were very close and shared many laughable moments. Michael’s family is at peace knowing that he is reunited with her. If you close your eyes and listen . . . really listen . . . you can hear Michael and Amber laughing together once again. That beautiful sound gives hope that we will see him again and be reunited as a family in heaven.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.neptunesociety.com/location/san-antonio-cremation for the Andaloro family.
