Neptune Society is a premier, trusted provider of cremation services in the United States. For forty years, Neptune Society has specialized in direct cremation. We provide a dignified cremation at an affordable cost to allow families the flexibility of choosing cremation alone or having funeral or memorial services at a time of their choosing.
What is a Cremation Plan?
A cremation plan is a written document that defines your choice of cremation for your final needs. Whether you are choosing cremation as a green funeral option, for its low cost, or for its simplicity, it is important to define and announce your wish.
A cremation plan may be as simple as a handwritten, signed piece of paper shared with your family or as formal as an estate planning document filed with your attorney. A cremation plan should:
Clearly state your choice of cremation for final needs
Identify your choice of cremation service provider
State your wish for disposition of your cremated remains
Identify any advanced payment made for cremation services
You needn’t do it alone. We’re here to help.
Help With a Cremation Plan
Neptune Society’s experienced staff compassionately guides you through the cremation planning process and helps you develop a written plan. Once your wish for cremation has been defined, Neptune Society offers the option of paying in advance for services and eliminating that obligation from your family.
Prepaid Cremation. By paying for cremation in advance, we are able to offer you a discounted price for services — today’s cremation price rather than a future higher cost of cremation.
With a defined, prepaid cremation plan, final needs will be easily cared for. With one phone call at the time of need, Neptune Society takes responsibility for services, caring for you and your family with compassion and respect.

Six years ago, we pre-purchased my then 87-year-old mom’s cremation services from Neptune Society of Ft. Myers, FL. (Since she was qualifying for Medicaid, we needed to spend down her life insurance cash credit. Prepayment of funeral services was an allowable expense.) She passed away several weeks ago of COVID-19 at age 93. From my first initial call to Neptune Society, until the receipt of her ashes, everyone has been professional, helpful, and caring. Jason Costin has helped me throughout the entire process. His follow-up and follow-through have been exceptional! It’s been a difficult time for our entire family and Jason’s compassion and support has been so appreciated. I highly recommend the Fort Myers Neptune Society.

When we signed up it was promised that your company would lovingly take care of our bodies anywhere in the world we traveled. At the time we were traveling a lot and this brought me comfort. Then, my husband, David was diagnosed with thyroid cancer that traveled to his lungs. The doctors gave him about 6 months to settle things. As we entered hospice care we were glad you were there with us. We had the two boxes with our urns sitting on a shelf. We started a slow down phase that allowed us to take care of most arrangements early and plan the memorial service as my husband wanted it. After 18 months, David finished his time here at home on April 29,2020. The Hospis called you and you came about an hour after he passed. The team was very professional and caring. We sat outside while they placed David on the wheeled cart to take him to your office. When they left they all spoke to us about how much they were sorry about my loss but let me know where they were taking him and assured us he would be cared for lovingly. This was nice to hear but when I came back into the bedroom where he had been a beautiful red rose was lying where David had been. This was so thoughtful and surprising. My sister said David left me the last rose because I would get a rose from on all our special occasions. Thank you for finding our tradition and for giving me silk rose that I can remember your living care at the time I started to miss David so much. I tell my friends that ask about who to talk to about their future home going that the Neptune Society crematorium is a loving and caring company and I know now I can have no worries about my family’s care when I get to join David someday.

I thought that Neptune and their staff were incredible. It took the stress off of me when my husband passed. I also have Neptune and would recommend it to anyone. Hospice called Neptune and they arrived within an hour. They filed all the paperwork and permits. Their Staff particularly Marissa and Elizabeth were particularly helpful and provided us with all the information, we needed and gave us all options. I would highly recommend it as they made a challenging time as easy as it could be. Regards- Sue W.

My husband and I chose the Neptune Society many years ago. We were prompt to make arrangements after my husband’s parents died within two weeks of one another and they had made no arrangements for anything. It was a difficult experience for us and we decided to gift ourselves and the children by settling all our arrangements ourselves.
This year my husband passed at the very early in the COVID 19 epidemic. My daughter contacted the local Neptune Society. We arrived and were greeted by lovely caring representatives. Everything was ready and explained in detail and all questions were answered. We were given the information we needed but would never have thought to ask about it.
The kindness and caring were amazing.
My daughter was so impressed that she requested a packet of information for herself and her husband. As we left the office she put her arm around her shoulder and said “thanks Mom for doing this for us”.

Tamar was amazing. She made dealing with an awful situation a little more bearable. She was always available to answer questions and never made me feel rushed about any of the decisions I had to make. She also took the time to let me know exactly where things were in the process and what and when to expect things to be done.
I felt like she really cared about my husband and that he was in good hands

Fortunately, my brother in law had prearrangements made to ensure his wishes were met. Jason provided the needed information and explained everything I needed to know and do. He has been patient and understanding as I have had to do everything via email and phone because I am in NJ. Everyone was polite, understanding, and ensured everything was taken care of. Jason has been very responsive to all my questions and needs. thank you!

The Neptune Society was the shining light in a very difficult time for our family. My mom was good enough to pre-plan for the unfortunate event so when the time came, it would be one less thing for us to have to handle or navigate. That was truly her last gift to us – having the Neptune Society all lined up. From the moment we called them, they were nothing but kind, caring, compassionate, and helpful. They explained every step in the process, stayed in constant contact, and answered all of our questions. They went out of their way to accommodate our requests and guided us in our time of grief. I’d like to say a special thank you to Sarah for all she did. I highly recommend their services – it makes possible the worst moment of your life a little easier to get through. Thank you, Neptune Society! I plan on leaving the same gift to my family now. . . .

The coronavirus pandemic has fundamentally changed how we live, but perhaps even more heartbreaking, how we are able to grieve. Social distancing has prevented holding funerals or otherwise gathering to mourn the loss of our loved ones, and even a comforting touch or hug isn’t safe.
Palliative care and hospice care have a common purpose: to provide compassionate care and relief from pain and stress to people with serious, life-limiting illnesses. But the goals of each are different. Read on for more information regarding the differences between palliative and hospice care.
